We are
so honored to have many tribes of Native
Americans participate in our Powhatan
Day Festival & Pauwau. This year -
we are excited to have old friends and
new friends join us in celebration of
our culture.
This
year's theme is the The Wisdom of the
Whitetail

Dance
Contest ... A Special $50 prize to the
People's Choice for Male Dancer &
$50 prize to the People's Choice for
Female Dancer - this will include
children also.
The
spectators will be able to choose their
favorite dancer. Dancers will be
judged on their respect for their
culture, regalia, grace in dance,
authenticity, and the way you interact
with the crowd and other dancers.
Dance Contest Scheduled for around 3 pm.
This
will be FUN - and will help dancers know
that the People enjoy and are learning.
The
below PRE-registration does not allow
you to "not show up" at the
Pauwau and still collect the honorarium.
The first 20
REGISTERED dancers who register the day
of the Pauwau are entitled to the
honorarium for dancing and participating
the day of the event. The
pre-registration is to help us get an
idea of how many dancers will be
attending and what types of dancers we
will have. Thanks so much!
